Registrations for several night shop courses open Monday November 29 from 7 to 9 PM at Hatch Vocational School. Offered subjects include Machine Shop Practice, Blue Print Reading, Drafting and Shop Mathematics. Both men and women eligible. later announcements will specify hours. Courses funded by Corry School District with state and federal vocational aid to expand shop experience and theoretical work for career advancement.
A local draft report lists fourteen Corry residents among Erie district selectees for December. The quota is smaller than expected and several from nearby districts transfer. Inductees will report to Erie after medical clearances. Navy and Marine picks may brief furloughs before service.

Moscow reported General Rokossovsky’s White Russian army pushed west from Gomel in a major operation to encircle German positions near Zhlobin and Propoisk. Soviet spearheads reached Kostyukovka and the Propoisk corridor as German divisions faced entrapment, with Vatutin’s First Ukrainian Army pressing south of Gomel.
