Two Erie men were sentenced to 18 months in federal penitentiary after a jury conviction on transporting a stolen automobile across the Ohio Pennsylvania border. Angelo Marasco Jr. 28 and Reynold Nexo 29 were accused of driving the car stolen from Dr. William J. McCarthy of Ashtabula to East Springfield, Erie County Pa, on February 1. Albert Azano, 20, of Ashtabula, was placed on probation for two years.

A Grove City man registered at a Greensburg hotel as L. W. Townsend was found in his room with a bullet wound to the head. Police say he shot himself after registering.
