Teens Admit Setting Cat Fire in Westside Neighborhood
Four high school youths confessed to police that they participated in burning a house cat in a westside neighborhood several weeks ago. Capt. Edward Williams said they will face a hearing Monday before him and County Probation Officer Edmund Thomas. Police had offered rewards for information and continue the investigation.

Career diplomat dies in Belgrade aged 58

Erie Man Denied Release From Warren State Hospital
Judge Burton R. Laub denied Clarence S Sourwine of Erie a release from Warren State Hospital on habeas corpus. A hearing reviewed Sourwine’s condition with Dr John Urbaitis testifying that additional treatment is needed. Officials expect possible release early next year.
