Union City Auto Crash Toll Rises With Fatality
In Union City over the weekend Lyle Pont, 65, died at Union City hospital after being struck by a truck driven by Norman Tenoyer near Spartansburg. Mary Peebles, 27, of Titusville, is in critical condition with a punctured jugular vein from a crash involving the West High Street bridge. Herbert Stives, 50, and John Youngs, 26, suffered injuries. Stives faced a drunken driving charge and bond set at $500.

Police charged Thielges with driving without an operator's license and without vehicle license plates.
