Explosive Blast Destroys Union Sulphur Plant

Thirteen men are reported dead or missing after a fierce explosion at the Union Sulphur plant in Williamsburg. About 200 workers were affected as a three story building, 350 feet long, burned and damaged the Brooklyn District Terminal warehouse. At least 80 injured, with three expected to die, and $750,000 in damage. Two Manhattan workers were unaccounted for and feared killed. Ambulances treated burn and wound victims, with many workers overcome by smoke.

Explosion at Waukegan lifts death toll to ten laborers

A three story structure of the Gore Brodget blasting company at Waukegan collapsed after an explosion. Ten laborers were killed and about five others missing or injured.
