Weaver Fired Cries Reprisal Over Dismissal At Soldiers Home

Eras.-games weaver, MD, medical officer at the Soldiers and Sailors Home, claims political reprisal for Republican activities as he faces dismissal. He says his retirement through December 1 is set by Robert Renz, MD, and that the board of trustees canfire him, not the state. Weaver offered resignation last April to Gen. Anthony J. Drexel Biddle Jr. He led the ERTE insurgent wing of the GOP and urged protection for nurses from politics. Roy T. McDonald, commandant, called Weaver an excellent physician and noted he helped rehabilitate men.
