Stanford Hose Company 58th Annual Thanksgiving Eve Concert
Attendance fell short of past years amid wartime conditions and competing observances but the Elks Male Chorus from Corry Lodge No. 769 and the Stan ford Hose Company volunteers delivered a strong program at St Edward's School hall. The Satee group led by H Tom Rice with Mrs Rice accompanied provided an excellent show, drawing enthusiastic response from about two hundred listeners. The dance that followed, with Al Green Orchestra of Erie, ran until around 1 am and featured special numbers. Advance ticket sales remained robust and many nonattenders purchased seats. Organizers plan to revive the Thanksgiving Eve event on a larger scale once peacetime returns, continuing a ninetieth-year tradition.
