The Women of the Moose gather at the Moose Lodge with a box for stamps and gifts for retarded children and announce a ribbon candy sale. A November 9 wedding at Elgin United Methodist Church for Miss Susan Clapp and Daniel McClellan features a full lace gown, yellow and aqua attire, and a 150 guest reception, with plans to move to Long Beach, California after naval assignments.
William Diemer was honored at Quiet Acres Nursing Home near Spring Creek for his 78th birthday. A birthday party featured a decorated cake and ice cream with family, patients, and staff in attendance. Diemer received cards and gifts from relatives and the home community. A separate brief notes a fatal car strike in Mayfield as Anna Kitchura was killed while walking home from a funeral parlour in Lackawanna County.
Wilford A. Peterson notes time for living and reading as essential. The Seneca District Rotating Collection at Dutton Library features titles such as Photogenic Soprano and Thundergate with works by Dunnett Smith Kinney Roberts Howard and Morey for youth and adults. Librarian Isabel Morris along with Babcock, Bernard Wilson, and James Clapp welcome visitors to view the selection and enjoy the library's inviting atmosphere.
Columbus resident Lyle Graham won the library fund drive prize at the Dutton Library event. Andrea Ross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ross, drew the winning ticket as Warlo Morris announced the winner. Mrs. Andrew Corry displayed the prize doll, and proceeds support library remodeling.
