Hess to Retain Post as County Officials Face Changes
Few changes in Erie County court house posts are seen after January 1 as new commissioners take over. Joseph C. Williams will lead the county registration office, Hazel Davis may head the personal tax office, Fred Taylor becomes county treasurer, and Paul Babbitt is expected for inheritance tax duties. Others slated for reappointment include John Porkost, Major William H. Supplee, Ralph C. Benedict, and Jacob Hele. Warden Matt Hess likely stays, Clyde Doolittle may be replaced by year end as the county home shifts toward a hospital-like operation.
