Father killed in Kane wreck near Kane Country Club
Leonard M. Brown, 32, of Allegany New York, was killed in a three-vehicle crash five miles north of Kane near the Kane Country Club at 6 15 am Thursday. Driver Kenneth Dibbre of Clarion and Leonard Fisher of Allegany were involved. Brown was pronounced dead by Coroner Elmer Beatty. He leaves a wife and two children, Daniel 8 and Shirley 6, and the accident is under continued investigation.

Military court finds Army officer guilty in Trieste graft case
Major Edward R. Richardson of Wayne, Ba, former Allied public works chief, convicted on four corruption charges by an American military court in Trieste. He received five years hard labor, a $3000 fine, and a dishonorable discharge. Earlier, three British officers and several Trieste contractors were convicted in a graft ring probing about $1 million. Richardson allegedly conspired to take money from contractors and accepted it while in possession of U S currency and a contractor's watch. His defense claimed gifts from contractors.

Priest Killed in Philadelphia Rectory Accident
The Rev. John J. Monaghan aged 42, longtime assistant rector at Our Lady of Victory, was fatally shot in his rectory while cleaning a revolver, an accidental death according to the church. In a separate case, John Allen, 20, faces arson charges for starting the Armistice Day fire that destroyed St. Anne’s Church, with only side walls remaining after a 90 minute blaze.

Trucker Arrested After Erie Crash Over Improper Parking
An improperly parked truck caused a three car collision on 12th Street in Erie. Delimar Betts 30 North East was arrested on improper parking charges as Leo Zielewski Erie driving east tried to pass the truck and struck Lt. Edwin Laurin stationed at the U S Army recruiting office.
