FDIC to cover about 7 million dollars to protect depositors as stockholders vote December 19. Two youths plead guilty to issuing worth less checks
At the Clarion court, James J. Apter of Chippenville and two others, Gerald Agnew age 28 and Melvin Brown age 18, entered guilty pleas to charges of issuing worthless checks. The checks totaled 15 dollars drawn on a Sligo bank.

The Tower Room Mystery staged at Clymer School
The sensops presented a diving class play The Tower Room Mystery by Robert St. Clair on Friday night November 14. Arthur Hair led as Jack Chalkce, with June Callisth as Kate Chalice and Myra Vernon among others delivering strong performances. A record crowd of about 100 witnessed the production, directed by Miss Helen Mordoff, with senior adviser Mr. Hubert Brown. Next comes the operetta Words and Music in December under Mr. Albert Manuel. The school also notes a coming basketball season with many new players and 30 boys in the first practice. Numerous class activities and a grade party in the first grade for Richard Lamberelli’s birthday are mentioned along with science and English work across grades. The 11th grade honor roll and a Thanksgiving program are also highlighted.
