Local church circles host yearend meetings and rummage sale
The Covenant Circle of the United Presbyterian Church held its final meeting of the year at East Main Street with 16 members present. Mrs. William Leaby led the business session after devotions by Mrs. Morrison. Members recalled helpers from the rummage sale and planned a family night supper and Alaska slides, while a Christmas tureen dinner and perfect attendance honors were noted for December 7 and 10 years respectively.

Former Corry Residents Feted For Anniversary
Former Corry residents Luther A. Davis and wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on November 12 at Lakeview Country Club near Morgantown. Their sons and daughters in law Howard and Anne Davis of Pittsburgh and Richard and Doris Davis of Pittsburgh hosted the dinner. Relatives from Corry, including Mrs. Vellah Bracken and the Bracken and Simmons families, joined the celebration. Mrs. Davis, formerly Mary Bracken, married Mr. Davis in Corry on November 1, 1916.

Luncheon Bridge Event at Hotel Corry
The Ladies Day luncheon and bridge for the Women's Association of the Corry Country Club was held Thursday at Hotel Corry. Hostesses were Mrs. Robert A. Ott Sr. and Mrs. Frank Graft. Out-of-town guest was Mrs. Mary Moyer of Ottawa, Canada. Winners were Mrs. Horton Davis, Mrs. Moyer, and Mrs. Wallace Young. Next session on December 1 will be hosted by Mrs. R. C. Anderson and Mrs. Wallace Young. reservations by November 30 with either hostesse.

Thanksgiving Dinner for Carter Hill Ladies Aid
The annual harvest dinner at the Community Center served 45 people with a turkey and trimmings. Mrs. Nellie Hodge celebrated her 90th birthday with cake and a corsage as did Mrs. C. J. Follett on her 89th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Follett marked their th wedding anniversary as Elmer Simpson showed a film “The Gift of the Wilderness” for attendees from Brad ford Bear Lake Wattsburg and Union City. The next gathering on December 14 will decorate the center and pack boxes for the December 17 Christmas party.
