Drib November 19 report from Hobba shows Thomas W. Flatley of 756 H 6th Street awaiting legal counsel before pursuing possible court action to challenge county commissioner winner Joseph F. Rogan. Flatley questions whether Rogan can be declared winner by including Liberal and Independent votes, while Rogan leads by 39 on Democratic tally and over 900 with all ballots.
Albert Bowen of Westfield pleaded guilty in federal court to illegal possession of liquor and paid a fine after asking the judge to delete his name. Other violators fined include Lucy Wrnscari of Jamestown $200, Charles Kanaley of Leroy $100, and Peter W. Callan of LeRoy $160.
Ridgway November 19. Simon Bereich age 6 of Grant Road is in critical condition at Brie County General after a crash on Grant Road Sunday night. Amputation of an injured limb was necessary after complications developed. Henning Carlson suffers a fractured pelvis and bruises and rests comfortably. The car, a Ford, struck an iron bridge. Stretch was thrown into a gutter, while Amacher Dueher and Amacher had minor injuries.
A main Westfield barn near the center of Brogiun village was destroyed by a fire of unknown origin early this morning. Owner L. R. Ryckman estimated losses at about 9000 dollars, partly insured. Firefighters from Brocton arrived after passing motorists raised the alarm. Efforts focused on saving nearby property as the blaze burned through the structure.
