Crawford Co Hunter Loses Right Arm in Hunting Accident

Moaiville Pa Nov 19 Claire Hood 21 son of Mr and Mrs Bird Mood of Shermanaville was brought to Spencer hospital with his right arm shattered by a shotgun wound from a hunting trip. The arm was amputated near the elbow at Meadville hospital. He is listed as recovering, with details noting the accident occurred when he pulled a loaded gun from under a buggy seat.

Arrest driver who killed Zickendrath in Cleveland

Cleveland reports show Fred Zickendrath, brother of Ruth, killed Tuesday night when struck by a car at East 17th Street and Superior Avenue. William J. Powers of Cleveland owned and drove the car. Powers was arrested for manslaughter, pled not guilty, and released on $500 bail as the case continued. Zickendrath’s body was sent to his family. funeral arrangements to be announced. The tragedy prompted call for a full investigation from Cleveland relatives.

Crawford Vet Hanged Self Today

A veteran of the civil war, age seventy, was found hanging at his home in Venango, after being in poor health for months. Neighbors described him as low in spirits yesterday. he was discovered this morning by visiting friends. The body showed no signs of foul play.

After five days of bidding and work the Presbyterian ladies closed the bazaar last evening. The crowd was large and many were turned away. Most items were valuable and the event is expected to clear around two hundred dollars once final tallies are completed.

Murdered Woman Identified in Aurora Churchyard

The body of a woman found murdered in the yard of the Methodist church in Aurora was identified this morning as Miss Jennie Miller, daughter of a former mayor and considered among the city's wealthiest women. The identification was made by Miss Mary Packenbush with whom Miss Miller lived.
