Study Finds Second Cancers Not More Likely After Radiation
Baltimore researchers Richard F. Morton and Umberto VillaSanta report on 1,562 cancer patients treated with radiation between 1932 and 1970. They found only 40 new unrelated cancers, a rate close to the general population, challenging the view that irradiated cancer survivors are especially prone to new cancers.

High Food Costs Tied to Illegal Deer Kills in Titusville
Titusville area deer have faced illegal hunting amid living costs and unemployment. William Lee, district game protector, cites more poaching this year with two or more deer killed and left to decay near the Titusville Country Club and Windfall Road. He notes night activity and shoots for sport rather than food as additional concerns. A Thai health official reports 610000 venereal disease cases in 1972, up 5 percent, with bar girls and prostitutes comprising about a quarter of the cases.
