Pennsylvania Motor Code Explained At Meeting

Wa Wy Matthews, chief of safety for Pennsylvania Hopeu of Motor Vehicles, explained the new state motor code at a meeting sponsored by the Mewsville Motor lab. The code, effective January 1, 1928, covers license suspension, uniform signals, accident reporting, penalties, safety equipment, and stricter traffic rules to curb reckless driving.

Cyclone Strikes Washington Damaging City Neighbourhoods

A cyclone twisted over the edge of Washington this afternoon causing damage in the northeast and southeast sections. A schoolhouse on Benning Road was damaged with only one injury reported nearby. Fronts of row houses near the school were ripped away as the cyclone moved through.

Peak Products Company announced a price of 8.10 for 30 milk delivered to their plants in November. The high price is reported to be the highest ever paid in this district and signals an improving dairy outlook. P. J. Friesenman left this afternoon for a visit in Erie.

Kiwanis plans ice rink for city youth upcoming winter

After today’s Kiwanis Club meeting, a skating rink project for city youth was announce d with arrangements nearly finished. The Corty public school system serves thirteen buildings and about thirteen hundred pupils with sixty cents per pupil per day, while emphasis on leisure time use and vocational training was urged. Case Continued in Erie Liquor Case and Union City Crash

Advices from the Erie District Attorney’s office say the liquor case against Guy Guignon of this city is postponed until next Monday, having been set for Tuesday morning. A true bill was returned last week by the Erie grand jury in the case of Charles Duane of Union City, who was bound over after a hearing on a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor following a crash with a car driven by R Tiffany near the state hatchery on the Union City road.

Bank Resources Reach Record High in Pennsylvania

Harrisburg, Pa November 17. Total resources of banks trust companies savings balances and private funds under the State Banking Department rose to 3440,857,125 on October 11, the highest level in state history. Individual trust funds totaled 3,800,025,204 and corporate trusts 5,026,872,216, as announced by the State Secretary of Banking Cameron.
