Rural Free Rides Begin for Rural Pennsylvanians
In southwestern Pennsylvania, 12 eight passenger minibuses will operate as a rural taxi service to connect residents of Fayette Greene Washington and Westmoreland counties with towns for shopping medical and religious needs. The program funded 75 percent by welfare and 25 percent by agriculture aims to serve 25 000 people in its first year at an estimated cost of 50 000. Iii 25 mile sectors operate 9 am to 5 pm first come first served for non emergency trips with toll free calls to 800-542-0366.
