Smethport blaze causes $500 damage
Fire in a basement apartment at King and Slate streets in Smethport caused $500 to $400 damage. The blaze started from a heat register around 8 p.m. and was quickly extinguished. a chimney burn and falling sparks from a cleanout hole spread the fire. The building is owned by Robert Brownall and occupied by the Teseena and Morrison families.
