Six men were injured, two seriously, when a westbound freight train collided with an eastbound passenger train on the Pennsylvania Railroad main line near Newport, Pennsylvania. Tokyo radio reported the Hakusan Maru carrying about 2090 tons of relief supplies for Allied prisoners at Nakhodka Siberia had arrived in Kobe. Sadao Iguchi of Japan’s board of information said relief pods would reach American internees in Japan China and southern regions as soon as possible.
