Clyde F. Brown president of the Roosevelt Highway Association will attend the fifth annual U S 6 Roosevelt Highway national gathering at the Fulmer House in Chicago on Saturday November 14. He leaves Friday urging Cortylles with business in Chicago to join. Sessions start 11 a m with a luncheon, followed by a general session and 3 p m adjournment. Delegates expected from Baylion to Denver as the highway develops across the United States.
Gorey merchants will be interested in two objectives from the Pennsylvania Annual Retail Conference held at State College last night. First, solving personnel problems in training and developing those who collect and distribute maps, useful and artistic creations. Second, increasing desire through wholesale advertising and selling.
Three men robbed the exclusive jewelry shop of Chas F Diesinger in Philadelphia, bound and gagged two men and a woman, and took about 250000 dollars in jewelry before leaving through the front entrance. Mrs Florence White, 68, an employee, said the men approached her desk and claimed they had no appointment.

San Luis Obispo California November report by United Press describes a head-on collision on a steep grade when a truck out of control crashed into a Greyhound bus. The stage driver and two women passengers died, twenty injured, with the bus toppled into a ditch and passengers trapped in wreckage as rescuers used acetylene torches.
Arnold Taylor two year old son of Mr and Mrs Leslie Taylor fatally burned when gasoline exploded in the kitchen of their Millville home. Mrs Taylor 35 critically burned not expected to live. Another son Terry five seriously burned but expected to recover, physicians at Bloomsburg hospital said.
Armistice Day observances ran through city schools with silent tributes and Armistice programs. Veterans groups American Legion Post 365 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 264 sponsored speakers and student assemblies. A father and son banquet at the Legion home closed the day. Oli W. Bracken addressed seniors on Europe’s turmoil and democracy’s benefits.
United Press reports that industrial stockholders will obtain about 3 billion dollars in dividend disbursements for 1936, the largest in U.S. history, with extra payments and increased dividends boosting stockholders’ income. Workers also see higher profits with annual raises and special bonuses anticipated. totals may exceed 200 million in extra distributions for the final quarter.
