Powers Indicted on Five Counts in Murders Case
Clarksburg West Virginia November 11 Harry F Powers also known as Cornelius Orvin Pierson a mail order matrimonial agent was indicted on five counts of first degree murder in the deaths of two women and three children. The Harrison county grand jury named Mrs Asta Buble Wither and her children Greta Harry and Annabelle of Park Ridge Illinois and Mrs Dorothy Pressler Lemke of Worcester Massachusetts in the charges. Police noted a possible additional body near where Slamitas Sfikas was found but said Sfikas died by own hand. A revolver with a bullet discharged lay near Sfikas and the coroner had not yet returned a verdict. Only a few of the 94 witnesses had appeared before the grand jury. Powers was most here.
