Flames Level Grand Valley Home in Mass Fire
A two story home of Mrs Frances Plementosh at D 2 Pittsfield, near Grand Valley, burned in a wind driven blaze believed sparked by a defective chimney. The fire caused about 10000 dollars in damage with 5000 insured. About 40 firefighters from Youngsville and Garland responded, largely preventing spread as the house burned to the ground. The family escaped in their night robes and slippers, an electric stove and refrigerator removed earlier.
