Massachusetts Senator Lodge, a longtime Senate leader and head of the Foreign Relations Committee, dies after a stroke on Wednesday night. Funeral arrangements set for Wednesday. successors to be named as tributes reflect his wartime and postwar leadership.
Trial calendar for Corry dry offenders announced with hearings set for Wednesday and Thursday morning. Defendants include Ernest Dims and Bert Poster facing charges such as larceny and theft linked to liquor raids. Other cases involve Remainsy Winter, Wilkyn, and Vin Williamson in separate trials.
United Pron reports Columbus Ohio faced a city gas shutoff as California Gas Co threatens supply suspension. City voters had authorized a 40 cent rate, but the company cannot supply. About 22,000 homes will lack heat and cooking fuel.

Irvine Kentucky reports 72 hour battle as volunteers contained forest fires menacing oil storage totalling over 10 million gallons. Fires in five Kentucky sections eased with danger fading and crews hopeful for full containment.
Corry will observe Armistice Day as a half holiday by mayoral directive. Municipal offices will close at noon and all business places are urged to follow, honoring World War veterans. The call for a ideal observance was issued by Mayor Alexander.

The pair aimed to steal a car owned by Gay Bish of Centerville and were spotted fleeing by residents. Perkins faces county court action as the investigation continues.

Dayville Kentucky Nov 11. National guardsmen and local deputies moved to quell a race riot after the murder of Edward Winkge. About 250 white workers marched on a Negro district in an abandoned quarry. Blacks took refuge. a hostile clash followed with sticks and rocks. One white and several blacks were injured. Troops arrived. guardsmen deployed in three contingents to restore order.
A weekend crash on the new Union Street highway near Waterford wounded two Meadville State Highway Patrolmen, Aukkye Phillips and another officer, plus slight vehicle damage. John B. Prokochuk, 18, riding a bicycle, was struck between two cars, sustaining severe injuries and later dying in Warren Hospital. The report notes heavy traffic, ongoing construction, and a fatal bicycle-car collision linked to the highway opening.
Mrs Katherine F Price widow of the late Robert Price died this morning at her home 560 East Main street. Survived by two sons Robert and Fred Price of Rochester NY and by two sisters Mrs T F Collins and Mrs William Srle of Ohio. Funeral arrangements will be announced.
