A thief, armed or ready for trouble, smashed open a safe at the Model Dairy Company offices in Maple Aventia before 8 a.m. He fled as driver Boyd Capwell discovered the scene. Police searched the area, questioned one suspect, and continued the investigation with no definite link established at press time. A separate home theft at the W. A. Steen residence on Hast Fred ercle street saw the intruder steal food but leave valuables untouched.
