In the Nov era, county officials launched an investigation into the courthouse fire. County Commissioner Charles R. Davis introduced two resolutions calling the district attorney and sheriff to assist. By noon, officials had not determined the cause, with County Detective Leroy Search noting the blaze might have been started by a cigarette or electrical fault. A full accounting of the damage is expected as a working schedule for court house janitors is planned to ensure continuous security. Total loss including damaged supplies is not likely to exceed 900 dollars.
