Chronicle reports a decisive Democratic victory led by Guffey and Earle. Rural and urban areas alike backed the ticket with strong margins, Erie's precincts tipping early, and County results showing broad gains against Republicans.
Pennsylvania Democrats expanded their U S congressional delegation from 12 to 28 after unofficial returns from 84 districts. Allegheny County elected a full Democratic slate of five, and Philadelphia County Democratic picks owned three of seven seats, marking a 22 year first for a Democrat in Philadelphia district representation.

Philadelphia dispatch notes Joseph W. Guffey, a lifelong Democrat from Westmoreland County, born in 1874 at Kat, now Katwas called Guffey's Landing of the Youghiogheny river, has been named to the U.S. Senate.
In Pottsville and Ligonier, Joseph Brimo and Bruno factions face large losses after a pre election shooting in Kelayres leaves five dead. Senator Reed concedes to Joseph J. Guffey as Democratic wins surge statewide with many Bruno supporters ousted.
Philadelphia reports results from 7450 districts showing Joseph F. Guffey winning the U S Senate race with a margin over David A. Reed. Governor-elect Bartle defeats Schnader by a large margin while Democrats gain lieutenant governor and key state offices including Logue and Rhodes as final tallies roll in.
Voter sheet lists candidates for state and local offices including Reed, Guffey, Schnader, Scott, Kennedy, Taylor, Logue, Wresler, Rhodes, Rose, Crosby and Van Alg. Seven persons were injured, nine including two children, in an automobile crash in the Homewood district. Mrs. Bess Schmitzer, 35, suffered a severe head injury. Others hurt include Mrs. Mary Hans, Regis Mager, and his brother Robert, all treated for head injuries. The crash occurred with a car driven by J Walter Bérs, 27, of Wikinsburg. The other driver Ralph Cardamore, 21, had minor injuries and his two children Dansons Howard Remmick 17 and Paul Ritter 17 were bruised.
George H Warle, after switching parties slightly over two years earlier, is elected governor of Pennsylvania. He will be sworn in January as the state’s first Democratic chief executive since 1890, the year of his birth. The result marks a dramatic political shift for the former Republican who supported Franklin D Roosevelt in the 1932 campaign.
Democrats appear to capture a working majority in the Pennsylvania State House with about 90 percent of their numbers elected and Republicans losing ground. Republicans had diminished influence in the Senate with Democrats gaining seats, while Philadelphia and Allegheny counties show strong Democratic gains.
Republican retreat became a rout as Democratic victories spread from the Atlantic to the West. The Roosevelt administration secured a record making vote of confidence and Democrats swept two thirds of the Senate while expanding control of the House. By late returns 27 Democratic governors had been elected against five for Republicans.
Milford Pa November 7 Governor Gifford Pinchot credited President Roosevelt with the Democrats victory in Pennsylvania. In a statement from his home he praised the president and said the Republicans in the state are bound to work with Democrats on minimum wages unemployment insurance good roads taxation relief and other public needs.
Oscar H. Robgen of Tucson Arizona was charged by the Department of Justice with violating the Lindbergh law in the kidnapping of six year old June Robles Jost in Spring.
