Johnny Unitas escaped Green Bay pressure to scramble for a first down on the Packers 23 yard line then threw a go ahead TD pass to Willie Richardson. The Colts rallied from a 10-6 deficit to beat Green Bay 10-6 and remain atop the NFL Central at 6-0-2.
Joe Oliver signs his contract to play for Corry Country Club for the coming year at the annual meeting. Watching are Russ Cassett president elect and C Conrad Monroe secretary treasurer. Cassett, Bob Watrous and Willard Gibson were elected directors.
Kansas City improved to 5-3 by crushing Denver 42-18 and then beating the Jets 42-18 on Sunday. Mike Garrett bolstered the Chiefs with 101 rushing yards and two scores, setting a club single game rushing mark with 192 yards and a TD against New York. Oakland led the division with a 7-1 mark after a 21-17 win over Denver, while San Diego was idle.
In Beaver competition Bowl-Aire and Har ley Taylor led top lanes. Dave Wetmore posted a 221 high game and a 563 series with 180 and 162 the other two games. Union City runner Dale Bidwell placed third in Class B with 18 minutes 9 seconds as Union City and Strong Vincent runners contributed to a strong district showing at the PIAA State Cross-Country Championships in University Park.
