City Buys Proposed New Parking Network
City officials approved a citywide parking plan from Koontz Equipment Co of Pittsburgh to raise meter revenue and fund more meters. The plan, discussed by James F. Caye, was cut from 22 000 to about 16 000 by reusing 125 existing six year meters. It adds 400 meters including 22 long term meters on East Park Place and two 12 minute meters near the General Telephone Co office. Parallel parking remains with single two headed meters for each space and Park Street meters on the east side only. (Continued on Page Three)
