A group from Libuttyy Stone Product Company and East Tackawanne township faces charges for endangering a gas pipeline during a car stripping project along the Goldsacre Mortland fan. The line, installed 1886 on Joseph Wright land, runs about 2,000 feet with around 10 inches damaged and stakes placed along its course to Sharon and nearby communities.
The city council tensions rise as the housing development plan by John Shanahan, a local contractor, is declared a dead issue. Treasurer Oscar Nordstrom reveals he persuaded Shanahan to extend the bid two weeks, but the offer was withdrawn amid Council opposition and lack of unanimous support.

Three juveniles were injured in a Warren County crash on Tidioute Highway. Glyden Gesin 16 of Tidioute was released after severe head lacerations. Frank Morrison and Carl Rosequist 22 remained in critical condition with head and facial injuries and other trauma. State Police officer W Irwin said reckless driving charges would be filed against Gesin.
