Murder trial delayed for Erie man in self defense claim
The murder trial of Howard Stanley, 33, of Erie, was postponed to the February term of the fourth in court, after defense attorney Louis Benacci requested more time to prepare. Stanley is charged with slaying John Lempicki, 24, with a broken beer bottle on October 1, and claims self defense. The judge granted the delay to allow witnesses to be located and additional evidence to be gathered before the November term opens.
