Erie November 4 Thomas Henry Arnold 48 of St Marys pleaded guilty to larceny and was sentenced to one to two years in Allegheny County Workhouse with a 150 dollar fine by Judge Elmer L Evans. Joseph Malinowski 60 of Erie received probation 45 days and court costs after pleading guilty to assault and battery against his landlady Amelia Makarski. Melville Rend y Clement 58 Erie artist pleaded guilty to malicious mischief and was placed on parole for one year with costs.
In Mestown on November 2 taxpayers are urged to refuse Frewsburg Central school taxes until the central district's legality is settled by the court. A mass meeting is planned November 9 at Kiantone Congressional Church at 8 pm with Harold Sampson presiding. Kiantone districts 1 and 2 sue over alleged illegal seizure of schools. Tax rate is 30.14 per $1,000. Kiantone 1 assessment rose from 92,983.94 to 196,086.38 and Kiantone 2 from 89,011.68 to 157,692.12.
