Heloise tips use cardboard tubes and boxes as fire starters

Readers share thrifty hacks from Heloise. Cardboard toilet paper tubes rolled with wax paper or newspaper ignite quickly with good ventilation, placed under logs or between logs. Waxed boxes rolled and twisted also serve as fire starters. Other notes describe sweater drying nets, heating pad covers, clear plastic trays as drip catchers, and folding egg whites into batter using mixer beater remnants for easier last-step mixing.
