Unlawful Vice Raids Denounced by Allegheny Judge

An Allegheny County judge ruled Pittsburgh state police vice raids on Oct 24 unlawful. Judge Frederic G. Weir questioned Alderman Joseph Rigby s jurisdiction as the raids were handled at the State Office Building in downtown Pittsburgh. He called the actions outrageous and suggested many detentions were improper. The habeas corpus cases involved Mrs Nina Hathazy and Mrs Anetta Lee with Hathazy’s morals charge to be dismissed. Lee’s case remains ongoing. Detective Carcaci testified Lee offered dates for hire with prices cited.
