Saturday drew about 190 local residents to the free chest x-ray unit parked at Tab Center and Washington Streets. Erie County Health and Tuberculosis Association members praised the turnout and said those scanned would be notified of results on a later date.
The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at Bracken Funeral Home for Mrs. Harold Howard with Rev. Pruncis G. Whiteman officiating. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery. Numerous relatives and friends attended from Jamestown to North Hust and other nearby towns. Also noted was a milk price increase of one cent per quart in New York and suburbs following a six day mine strike settlement.
