Ford and Carter wind up their campaigns within 100 miles of each other in Michigan and Ohio with polls showing a near tie. Swine Flu Shots Resume Tomorrow in Pennsylvania

Health Secretary Leonard Bachman announced statewide swine flu inoculations will begin this week with 19 counties offering shots Tuesday. Programs in remaining counties run through early December. A helpline 800-692-7254 assists Pennsylvanians. Philadelphia and Allegheny counties have already administered shots to the general population for weeks. Those with heart disease lung problems kidney disorders diabetes and other chronic diseases will receive the double dose if over 55, up from a previous minimum of 65. A Victoria flu outbreak has been reported in Guam and at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. federal officials expect the virus to reach the United States by winter.
