Pittsburgh AP report says Mayor Pete Flaherty owes Ways and Means Inc nearly 6700 for fundraising services for his U S Senate bid. Flaherty denies the claim, saying the firm seeks payment for August 23 to September 19 while noting a telethon that was never held.

Farm Prices Rise but Cattle Slump Deepens

Washington AP With October data showing farm price index up four percent driven by gains in grain soybeans hogs milk and cotton cattle prices plunged to 30.50 per hundredweight the lowest since December 1971. The mid October beef price remained weak after a peak in August 1973.
