A fire engine responding to a blaze at the Times-News building collided with a car in Erie, injuring seven people including three firefighters. The driver James Arrington, 23, faced possible charges. firefighters Erwin Fredrich, 31, James Arrington, 20, Julius McLaurin, 19, Marilyn Kennedy, 18, and others were treated at Hamot and St. Vincent Hospitals. Lawmakers from Pennsylvania Ohio New York and Michigan meeting in Erie criticized the federal government for inadequate funding to curb pollution in Lake Erie. They formed a commission to standardize anti pollution efforts, called for a federal funding boost and a moratorium on oil drilling, with Charles F. Kurfess named chair and John F.
