The Children s Aid Society of Erie hosts a benefit card party at Mrs rank N Ames 48 West Smith Street on Friday afternoon November Fur Reservations for tables are in charge of Mrs A MacKensie and Mrs BE Merker. The Erie county society is one of the bureaus of the Children s Aid of Western Pennsylvania serving twenty three counties. It seeks to place homeless children with foster families and has cared for many children through its network. The local branch is caring for seven children and three babies have been adopted in nearby families. Officers include President Mrs Franke S Austin and vice presidents Mrs Robert Patterson and Mrs James Wright, Secretary Mrs Sidney V Stewart, Assistant Secretary Mrs Oli Brac, and Treasurer Mrs William Py Myers. Dues are one dollar a year, contributions may be sent to treasurer Mrs William J Myers. The society runs a training school for girls at Indiana Pa and operates temporary homes in Allegheny, Clarion, Payette, McKean, Mercer, Somerset, Venango and Warren counties. Hastings Jones travels to Buffalo to play football tomorrow with the Buffalo Alumni team.
