Pennsylvania adds 16 federal aid miles to highway plan

Secretary Samuel S. Lewis announced Pennsylvania will add 16 miles to the federal aid highway program, funded with favored bids and department matching to expand the original effort to more than 300 miles. The plan uses about 5 million in federal funds this year, with the state contributing no extra outlay due to declining revenue. Crawford county will gain 12.10 miles from Meadville to Crossingville, and Erie county will receive 7.25 miles from Mill Village to Edinboro and 14.99 miles from Edinboro to Albion, all approved by Governor Pinchot.
