Trial Run of New Erie Limited Impresses Press Guests
Fifty newspapermen from towns along the system toured the Erie Railroad’s New Erie Limited trial run between Chicago and New York. The eastbound trip arrived early in Jersey City, while the westbound return was briefly delayed east of Buffalo. The train, described as the latest in passenger equipment with coaches parlor cars and Pullmans, will begin regular service on June 2. Guests visited fruit and produce piers, toured New York harbor on a sixty mile ferry ride, and attended the musical comedy Spring is Here at the Alvin Theatre. Participants included CG. C. Howard and L. Probers, with representatives from Chipara to Scranton listed among attendees.
