Investigators found a wooden club with possible bloodstains and a machete at the home of Juan V. Corona, the farm labor contractor accused in the murder of 10 itinerant farm workers. The search uncovered 21 bodies in scattered graves near the Feather River north of Yuba City, with officials calling the suspect probably a homicidal maniac. Corry Memorial Hospital will raise charges by about 10 percent for most services including laboratory X ray physical therapy operating and delivery rooms with private rooms at 49 a day and semi private at 47 a day. Hospital administrator Samuel Antrim cited rising costs and low patient days as causes for the change noting increases in telephone water electricity postage and supplies and a shift to shorter post operative stays amid lower occupancy.

Hope From Upper Darby Sparta Crisis Coming Although they are fighting an uphill battle the Sparta Citizens Committee remains optimistic about beating the merger with the Corry Area Jointure. Jamestown officers chased an escaped prisoner Edward D English 29 from Erie County court May 10 but lost him on a one way street during traffic. Police had no official notification of the incident.
