Public Invited To Services For War Dead

Public attendance invited for Memorial Day services honoring the citys war dead. The Veterans Council extended the tribute to Monday at 10 20 a m. with the Cory Area High School Band conducted by Ronald Rairie leading the ceremonies and Master of Ceremonies Olin Brack. The program features welcome address by Guy Abbey introductions of speakers and veterans groups, and a parade of community units. The ceremony includes musical selections by the choir and band and concludes with taps by Wendell Gare and benediction by Rev R Merriman.

Mutiny Gas Attack Kills Officer in Six Hour Fray

In San Francisco a violent six hour armed incident aboard a transport left one officer dead and another seriously wounded. The attacker, identified as Ensign Morris, 36, of Ohio, fired through a doorway then killed a fellow officer before being shot. The body of a 19-year-old woman was removed to Clivelunes for an autopsy as law enforcement and state police continued investigating her death and that of a 2-year-old boyfriend Judy Barber a woman at Wilmington Area High School was found dead in Werhothe yesterday.
