Annexation Approved by Supreme Court for Corry area
The State Supreme Court denied Wayne Township petition challenging a Superior Court ruling that allowed annexation of part of the township to Corry. The May 20 ruling, issued in Pittsburgh, ends if no further appeal is filed, clearing the way for Corry to begin providing utilities and police coverage. The move, started in 1968, involves North Hills Municipal Golf Course and Erie County Plastics Corp, the area’s largest tax payer outside the city. Municipal services will be extended while protection remains via mutual aid with Elgin Beaverdam VFC.
