Budget decline puzzles taxpayers as taxes stay steady
The Bowed of Education approved a coming year budget of 111000 less than the present period yet the six mill tax rate remains. The plan saves by not funding major heating projects and other large jobs while a $21000 treasury balance aided current expenses. The 12 180,015 total is allocated across departments with modest increases for instruction and library needs, and a large cut in Dept D reflects reduced heating and maintenance outlays.
