A garbled roster lists numerous residents and relatives with ages and home addresses across multiple towns including Union City Corry and Spartansburg. It mentions children and parents such as a 9 year old Rodney and a 4 year old Beverly along with November telephone contact for Sterling Milk orders.
The Senate moved to cloture on a civil rights measure on Tuesday after 24 days of debate. Fifty senators split, with 47 Democrats and 23 Republicans voting for cloture and 2 Democrats and 9 Republicans voting against. Southerners argued the bill unconstitutional and the rule limited speaking time as Ervin pressed Southern backed amendments.
The report describes an ambush area near Quan Lan 150 miles south of Hanoi with 70 percent of barracks and storage structures destroyed. Coral Sea aircraft conducted three flare sorties while two Skyraider crews claimed hits on trucks along Route 7 and Route 116. Four planes attacked a South Vietnamese army post. initial claims labeled them MIGs but Saigon later said the jets were off course. Five Vietnamese were wounded.
Mr McCray of R D 3 Corry Concord Township aged 72 died today after living with his daughter Doris Lindholm since retirement last August. He was born April 22 1893 and is survived by a daughter, two brothers Carl and Wayne, five grandchildren and a widow Gladys. Funeral services Saturday at 2 pm at Bracken Funeral Home with burial in McCray Cemetery. Mr Pratt, 74, died yesterday at his daughter’s home in Irvine Star Route Warren. He was born August 29 1890 in Hinsdale New York and formerly farmed in Spring Creek. Surviving are his wife Myrtle a daughter Estella Shrabb and a grandson. Funeral at McKinney Funeral Home Youngsville with services tomorrow at 2 pm and burial in Warren County Memorial Park Starbrick.
Four services will be held for Chester L. McCray at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bracken Funeral Home. Friends may visit Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in McCray Cemetery.
