Midland Pa May 25 body of Thomas B Poe 58 president of the Fit National Bank was found in his automobile in a Brighton township highway. Beaver County coroner reported the death of the banker and guardian. The body was found late yesterday by Robert Morricon of Vanport whose suspicions were aroused by the parked car in an annotated section.
Kansas City Mo May 25 farmers of wheat producing styles voted today on continuation of the AAA wheat production control program. Weather conditions and bumper yields in favored areas boosted sentiment for retaining government controls.
Grading on the Beaver dam to Wattsburg 177 mile road is complete and concrete pouring on the north end may start mid next week. Charles H. Pry Construction Co of Brig holds the contract for the first link, with weather delaying final preparations and forms in place for early concrete laydown.
Forty Boy Scouts from Troops No 10 and 8 left for Erie to join the home coming celebration for Oln StencliT and Paul Siple, Erie’s Boy Scout delegates with Admiral Richard E Byrd, in his Antarctic bid. Robertson seeks 2,000 ex soldiers to join the caravan, with thousands more expected from California. marchers to wear overseas caps and carry no extra gear.

In Bucharest a knife duel between 11 year old Thomas Cerbagorov and 12 year old Anton Prijerepey over an 11 year old girl led to Cerbagorov's death. The incident occurred in the Romanian district of Bessarabia near Chisinau during the day’s turmoil.
In Rome on May 24 Premier Benito Mussolini told the Chamber of Deputies that the danger of a fresh European war is decreasing. He said Italy’s strong military preparations against the Abyssinia threat will continue and condemned those protesting them as acting in bad faith. He cited the Axis foreign policy as laid by Adolf Hitler and emphasized the need to maintain readiness amid diplomatic changes.

Matte a well known local manufacturer died at 2 30 this morning after an operation at Carry hospital Friday evening He had been in ill health but remained active at his Grace street plant He was born in Corry son of the late Mr and Mrs C A Mahle a longtime partner in the firm C A Mahle and Son Funeral services will be from his home 102 West Smith street Monday at 2 30 Rev Francis J Graves officiating burial in Pine Grove cemetery He is survived by his widow References to the deceased and his roles as outdoorsman and sportsman are noted along with memberships in Corry Lodge BPOE Ellis and the Stanford Hose Company.

He spoke before leaving for England to fulfill stage and motion picture contracts. He refused to name Hollywood stars he liked best.
Grand Central Terminal Burbank May 25 Laura Ingalls daring aviatrix took off at 447 am PST in a Lockheed monoplane on a second attempt to smash the women non stop transcontinental speed record. She studied weather charts, had breakfast, and taxied 2000 feet before liftoff amid light press presence. The plane lifted with a heavy fuel load and headed east as observers timed the start.
Clyde F Brown president of Use Roosevelt Highway Association announced the eighth mid year meeting will be at Wellsboro on Wednesday noon June 12. Plans will push for U S 6 improvements statewide and to spend federal funds on work relief. Raymond B Gibba secretary works on a new U S 6 Roosevelt Highway folder to be released soon. Reports from officers and directors will cover routes through Denver and extension toward the Pacific Coast. Thomas Gregg 51, a steel worker, was killed when struck by a Pennsylvania railroad freight train.
Charles M Schwab drew a 250000 salary last year as Bethlehem Steel chairman while two other steel leaders earned over 125000. Eugene G Grace Bethlehem Steel president received 180000 and T M Girdler Republic Steel president and chair earned 129271 as revealed by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
