A flood ferry carried two passengers from a rural home on the Necatie River near Krporla Kansas yesterday. The boat drifted in flood waters while a near by figure stands by the house awaiting assistance. The scene shows a boatman and flooded shore as rescue efforts commence.
Israeli prosecutors present documents linking Adolf Eichmann to the 1942 Lidice massacre and the fate of its 125 children. Evidence traces Eichmann in Prague when the village was razed in reprisal for Heydrich’s assassination, with 84 children sent to Lodz, seven placed in German foster homes, and 41 missing and presumed dead in Polish camps. A Brumey letter to Berlin sought guidance on the “unfit” children, and the reply pointed to special treatment in Auschwitz.

Shelby Leon Doggett of Sweetwater Texas was found guilty of murdering Lawton golf pro Jimmy Lannian aged 24 in August. A Philadelphia jury fixed Doggett’s death penalty in the electric chair after a lengthy deliberation. Ronald Lockwood of Altoona, Pennsylvania, and Doggett were involved in the slaying as they drove Lannian.
