Three youths Paul H. Boggs Russell Wentz and John Greenawalt were found guilty of first degree murder in Greensburg Pennsylvania for the February 27 barbecue stand killing of Francis J. McGreen. Jury recommended life imprisonment. Wentzwits showed emotion. others remained stoic. Defense motions for a new trial were noted but reasons not disclosed.
Braeburn Pa May 23 Pennsylvania Railroad officials began surveying the hillside overhang to prevent a repeat of yesterday’s wreck that killed the engineer. A watchman will patrol 200 yards on each side of Edgecliffe station as crews plan to extend Onecliff Back from the tracks. A boy who warned engineer Hesillsgrove of danger previously helped flag a train, and Fireman A A Kuarr 40 Oil City Pa is in Citizens General Hospital with injuries after leaping from the ten foot ift. Freight brakeman George McCallim of Oil City aided the crew and was treated for injuries.
Corry residents traveling from Jamestown report a snow storm en route to the city, with a ground covering of white near Mayville and Sherwood. Snow flurries and hastily moving gusts were observed at Warren as frost is forecast tonight by the weather man.
In central Germany and the Ruhr district unemployed rioted, barricades formed in Basen, police were stoned, shop windows smashed, and one communist was killed in a street clash. Nine demonstrators were arrested and a town official injured. At Graffenhainichen and Holeweissig unrest forced the burgomaster to raise relief, while in Wehoffen a workers committee won a relief increase after negotiations.
Thomas Ash Jr., 38, a former World War pilot, plans a Memorial Day start from Japan in the Pacific non stop flight to Tacoma, Washington, seeking a $25,000 prize. He hopes the feat will allow him to send his father and family on a California trip if successful, with a takeoff from Sahbishirg Beach and a planned 1020 gallons of fuel and about 100 mph average.

Mrs. Margaret Clark, Corry resident since 1877, will mark her 92nd birthday tomorrow at her daughter Mrs. John Moffitt’s Wright street home. Born in Conneautville Crawford County she moved to Corry with her husband over fifty years ago. Her husband died about twenty-five years ago and she has lived with her daughter since. Despite a fall stroke last fall she remains in fairly good health and active in local affairs. Her son Howard H. Clark lives in Nova Scotia. The Journal joins friends in offering best wishes.
Los Angeles police seek June Taylor, 24, owner of the Clinton hotel, in connection with the Crawford Speheer killings and the murder charge against young attorney David H. Clark. Taylor, missing since Thursday night, might know Clark’s whereabouts from 430 Wednesday to 11 Thursday. Clark’s former associate Albert Marco was sent to San Quentin in Clark’s early prosecutors battles. Chief investigator Blayney said Miss Taylor could reveal movements after the shooting. Clark’s wife Nancy argues for his innocence.
About 8,000 people were homeless and 100 houses destroyed as the Danube overflowed parts of Galatz and Moldavia. Troops were helping in relief work and neighboring villages faced inundation, according to United Press reports from Bucharest dated May 23.

Greenwich Connecticut May 23 1000 striking highway laborers stormed Town Hall crashing the front door and resisting police. Town Counsel Wilbur S Wright pledged militia if order was not restored. Police used tear gas and fire hoses as crowd pressed into the hall over demands of 6.50 a day instead of 6.00. Legal aid attorney John Inox hurt amid glass and door damage as leaders were urged to attend a conference.
Charles E Hillstrom stockholder and director of Corry Jamestown Manufacturing Corp died at his Chesterton home after short illness. Survived by wife two daughters seven grandchildren and brother D A Hillstrom who will attend funeral in Chesterton Tuesday. Former postmaster of Chesterton and associated with C C Hillstrom Organ Co. He previously worked at Illinois Steel Gary. Funeral services set for Tuesday in Chesterton.
President Hoover spoke by radio from his camp in Virginia at the dedication of Cornell University War Memorial in Whace New York. He saluted 264 Cornell men who died in World War I, linking the memory to all university youths and the ideals they fought for.
