A car out of control in Tyrone sheared a traffic signal pole, overturned, and stopped in a service station lot. Jerry D. Walk, 22, of Erie, died at the scene. Lynn Drake, 21, and William Mills, 23, both of Tyrone, were hospitalized for treatment.

Mr. Cooper died at Corry Memorial Hospital after a long illness at 75. Born November 18, 1889 in Bear Lake, he lived in the area most of his life and was a retired farmer and painter. Survived by his daughter Mrs. Donald Cross, step-son Donald Bradford, sister Mrs. Sepha Mather, a grandchild, and two nephews. Services at St. George Funeral Home with burial in Bear Lake Cemetery.
