Hearing Friday on June theft charge in junk plant sale

Clyde Brown of 328 Ohio Street faces a Friday hearing before Alderman C. B. Porter on alleged theft of 600 dollars in junk from the old brake shoe plant. Sam Baumgarten, junk dealer, says Brown had purchased salvage and was seen handling it after Wallace Hammond bought the property and resold the salvage to Willis Brow.

Who Owns the Fair Ground in Corry Will Be Decided

The Federal Works Agency has selected the North Corry plot for a defense housing project and will condemn the property at a price set by appraisers. Ownership disputes linger since the 1920s when Corry School District bought it for 15 000 dollars but defaulted on installments.
